In my artistic journey, I explore the theme of time and its transformative power is ever-present in my work. Whether abstract or representational, each piece reflects the mutable nature of existence, inviting contemplation on the fragility of memory and the inevitability of change.

My work centres on still life, often using flowers as a way to represent people and the connections we carry with us. A chosen flower can stand in for a loved one or a memory of home, while the act of arranging them recalls the pride and care found in domestic rituals. Alongside these floral portraits, I include animals such as rabbits, fish, and birds. These creatures speak to my own childhood fascinations, and to the way I now watch my children encounter the world with the same intensity and wonder.

I am interested in the way memory loops back on itself, where a moment in the present mirrors something from the past. This cyclical sense of time is reflected in my paintings, where flowers and animals become symbols of both then and now, presence and echo.

Though I occasionally work with abstraction, it is my representational pieces that carry these themes most clearly. Subtle distortions such as stems bending in water or unexpected shifts in perspective invite the viewer to reflect on how memory reshapes what we see, and how imperfection can make the familiar feel new.

My years as an art teacher have given me an adaptable approach, shaped by a constant engagement with diverse creative processes. This openness continues to influence my practice, allowing it to evolve while remaining rooted in an exploration of memory, presence, and change.
